Day 1 Pennsylvania USA to Zurich Switzerland via New York City & Copenhagen
Years in the making, Greta and I talked about attempting a sizable bike tour for quite some time now. We initially thought about South East Asia. But after research and some good advice we decided that trip is better left to another month or mode of transportation. When we started to research Europe as an alternative, one route jumped out as us. Greta is part Swiss (hence the name) and grew up with many Swiss traditions, so a start high in the Swiss Alps, got us both excited. The route is called the EuroVelo 15, Over 850 miles through 6 countries it's been long established and ridden by cyclists for years so since we had limited time to plan that helped immensely. By no means though, do we expect it to be easy. With injuries and setbacks it will be a great accomplishment if we can complete the route. Our plan is to begin at the headwaters at OberalpPass Switzerland and finish at the North Sea in The Netherlands. We are super excited to experience the Mighty Alps, medieval towns, & castles, windmills and of course eating all the great foods . We have purchased panniers in the US and will carry all of our clothes, food, and gear on the bikes with us. Our bikes are waiting for us in Zurich so our first challenge will be loading them down and making sure everything fits! We greatly appreciate you cheering us on! It's go time!

On our way to storm the Castles!
